Advantages of Mobile Gaming

Posted on Feb 29, 2012 under Uncategorized | No Comment

The mobile-gaming platform has evolved over the years. What started as simple games on monochrome screens have transformed to graphic-rich games on high resolution screens (such as Super AMOLED and SC-LCD displays). This evolution has made mobile-gaming a multibillion industry, and there are several advantages tagged to it.
First off, mobile games are much cheaper, as compared to those meant for gaming consoles. A good proportion of them are offered for free, and those that you have to pay for hardly cost over $20. As such, it is possible to have different kinds of games, without having to spend a lot acquiring them.

Mobile games are much more creative. Given the lesser production costs, developers get a chance to exercise their creative sides. As a result, mobile games display greater variations. After all, there is little to lose if a game does not turn out as expected.
The biggest advantage of mobile gaming has to be with the convenience it creates. You can start playing whenever you like, so long as you have your mobile gaming device with you. If the game title is good, and the device has superior hardware support, the games are rendered nicely, and one can play endlessly for hours.

Motion-based Mobile Gaming

Mobile gaming has come a long way since the idea of making mobile gaming consoles made its way into the market. With powerful graphics cards available, the thrill of gaming on the move has drastically improved, and any die-hard gaming fan will always ensure they have a portable gaming device every time they’re travelling. One game-changer that has gained a lot of popularity is motion-based gaming. It is supposed to enhance the gamer-experience by creating a way of gaming that is more interactive with ones movement.

In stationary consoles, the idea of motion-based gaming has been around with consoles such as the Nintendo Wii. For mobile platforms, the creation of accelerometer sensors is to thank for providing games that ‘move when you move’. The use of motion in these mobile gaming devices has yet to evolve to provide a user with the full experience. But the way has been paved, and the number of games that will be based on the motion sensors is set to increase in the not so distant future. Most recent smartphones that have these sensors have already provided these interactive games, most notably car games, as they are the ones that can fully take advantage of the sensors with their movement.
